Faculty Senate Committees
The Constitution and By-Laws of the Faculty Senate establish standing committees and give the Faculty Senate the power to appoint special committees.
Article IV of the by-laws state the manner of appointment of members of these standing committees:
Faculty Senate Educational Programs and Policies Committee (EPPC)
Faculty Senate Committee on Administrative and Trustee Appointments (CATA)
Faculty Senate Personnel Committee
Faculty Senate Research Programs and Policies Committee (RPPC)
The Faculty Senate Steering Committee produces and administers the ballot for the elected members of the committees listed (if specified). The FSSC appoints members to these committees as well. If vacancies occur on the committees, the FSSC appoints members to fill them until the next regular election.
Article II of the Constitution states:
“Every member of the Temple University faculty with full-time faculty status and every professional librarian with a full-time appointment in the University shall be a member of the Faculty Senate. Department chairs and academic program directors shall be members of the Faculty Senate and may be members of the Representative Senate.”
The remaining committees listed on this page were created by the Faculty Senate. Any member of the listed above may apply for appointment to any committee vacancy. The form is found here.
